Josephine N° 4 – Champagne

Sparkling wines such as Champagne, Sekt, Franciacorta and Cava are often related to a special occasion and deserve an elegant glass that allows them to shine. The Josephine N° 4 impresses through its unusual shape and lies perfectly balanced in the hand. The same surface area as the universal wine glass and its deeply pointed tip at the bottom of the bowl serve to highlight the fine mousse of mature champagnes as well as the gentle perlage of other sparkling wines. The narrowing towards the rim of the mouth promotes the richness of the bouquet and transports it in a focused manner towards the nose. Sweet wines such as Auslese, ice wines, Tokaji or Sauternes also benefit from the shape of this unique glass. Let festive moments last forever!

Experience glasses that uniquely enhance the taste and aromas of wine.

The Josephine is a purely handcrafted and mouth-blown glass that stands out sensorially. Its form and function are one. Thanks to its distinctive kink, the wine absorbs more oxygen, revealing its full spectrum of flavors. The ultra-thin, flexible glass accentuates the finest nuances of aroma. When experienced sommeliers and renowned winemakers rediscover their wines in this way, they experience the Josephine moment. Can a glass do more for enjoyment?

Each Josephine glass is a mouth-blown and handcrafted unique piece.

The Josephine Collection, produced in the finest glassworks of Europe, is fundamentally different from machine-made glasses. It represents the fusion of traditional glassmaking craftsmanship and innovative design. Each glass is mouth-blown and crafted through a series of meticulous steps that demand extensive experience, skill, and the utmost concentration from master glassmakers. With great attention to detail, this process creates delicate yet durable glasses—designed for an unparalleled wine experience.

Designed by Kurt Josef Zalto, 6th-generation glass designer.

Kurt Josef Zalto was born with a deep fascination for glass. Coming from a long lineage of glassmakers spanning six generations, his passion goes far beyond a love for traditional craftsmanship. As a designer, his mission is the pursuit of the perfect form—inspired by nature. Over 20 years ago, he created a glass that was revolutionary at the time.

The Josephine is his masterpiece—a glass that distills form to its essence while elevating function to an art. “This glass embodies all the passion and experience of my life,” says Zalto. He breathed soul into the Josephine.
